About Silversaga Patterns

Hello, my name is Jessica Silversaga, and I’m the founder of Silversaga Patterns.

My passion for sewing began after taking a beginner's sewing class. I started with vintage patterns but found myself disappointed with the fit, commercially available sewing patterns weren’t much better. Whether I sewed my own clothes or bought ready-to-wear, the issues were always the same: sleeves too long, necklines that didn’t sit right. The waistline often landed inches below my natural waist, leaving me feeling like everything was made for someone taller than me.

In my late 20s, I began learning how to draft patterns tailored to my petite frame and smaller cup size. I enrolled in evening pattern drafting classes in Stockholm, and it didn’t take long for me to fall in love with the process. I became obsessed with creating patterns that not only fit well but fit beautifully. This passion reignited my love for sewing and ultimately shaped the foundation of my journey into pattern making.

In late 2018, I launched Silversaga, a slow fashion clothing label. My collections were produced in small batches by a skilled atelier in Estonia, with one collection per year. My focus was on creating timeless, flattering garments in exclusive, high-quality fabrics that were made to last.

While my slow fashion label found success, the challenges brought on by the Covid pandemic forced me to pivot. In 2023, I turned my focus to teaching others how to create their own designer garments through Silversaga Patterns. Combining my love for sewing and my background as a photographer, I found my true passion: creating sewing patterns that empower others to make their own beautiful garments in a slow fashion manner.

In 2024, my fiancé Simon joined the company, taking on customer support on Etsy and building tools that enhance our testers and customers experiences.

- Coming soon: Projector files - Designed with our projector sewing community in mind, featuring a clean, clear layout for an effortless cutting experience.



Building Silversaga Patterns has been a journey of passion and perseverance, and I’m only getting started. I believe there’s a strong need in the sewing industry for well-drafted, thoughtfully designed, and unique patterns that inspire sewists of all levels.
