A soft and breezy summer essential, perfect for beach days, market strolls, and everything in between. The Chloe Dress & Top is a quick and simple make, featuring an adjustable neckline with fabric ties, bias-bound armholes or short sleeves, and hidden inseam pockets. Inspired by the timeless elegance of vintage chemise dresses, Chloe is a modern take on this classic silhouette - easy to sew, easy to wear, and perfect for everyday life.
Choose between a clean finish or an optional button placket, and make it in three lengths: top, mini, or midi. This pattern works beautifully in drapey, breathable fabrics like cotton lawn, block prints, or lightweight linen. The pattern is designed to be beginner-friendly - start with View A (with sleeves) and work your way up to the button placket in View B. Whether you're a beginner or experienced sewist, Chloe is feminine, easy to wear, and endlessly versatile.

Pattern difficulty
The Chloe Dress & Top is designed to be beginner-friendly, with additional views that let you grow your sewing skills at your own pace. You'll sew an adjustable neckline channel using a bias facing, bias-bound armholes, and a fabric tie. If you choose View B, you'll also sew a fold-over button placket, adding an extra level of skill.

Fabric recommendations
The pattern is designed for woven, lightweight fabrics that offer softness and drape while maintaining structure. Ideal choices include cotton lawn, voile, lightweight linen, or block prints. The sample is made from cotton block print, 90 gsm and linen, 140 gsm. Please note that using linen may increase the difficulty level of this pattern, as linen tends to fray easily and can stretch or “grow” during sewing.

Fabric usage
The cutting layout and fabric requirements are based on View A (sleeve version in parenthesis). The layout is designed for fabric 140 cm (55”) wide. The pieces are arranged efficiently to minimize waste, but we recommend buying a little extra fabric to account for shrinkage, print alignment, or cutting adjustments.

Notions and tools
•  View B: Interfacing for the button placket.
•  View B: Buttons, 10 mm in diameter - Top (6 buttons), Mini (15 buttons), Midi (20 buttons)
•  Sleeve views: Elastic, 6 mm wide (1/4”).
•  Sewing thread.
•  Sharp fabric scissors or rotary cutter, along with pins, fabric marking pen and a seam ripper.
•  A flexible measuring tape.
•  A safety pin small enough to fit into a finished 1 cm (3/8”) channel.
•  A universal needle, size 70/10 or 80/12 is ideal for cotton poplin. For finer fabrics, like cotton voile, a microtex (sharp) needle in size 60/8 or 70/10 could be a good choice for precision.

Good-to-have tools (optional)
•  A clear plastic ruler, a French curve and tracing paper (for any pattern alterations).
•  A thin and sharp hand-stitching needle.
