One of my most requested designs, now available as a designer sewing pattern with high quality instructions.
The Emma dress was released during my S/S2023 (dress) (top) and S/S2022 (dress) (top) slow fashion collections and was one of my best-selling garments.
The Emma dress and top is a romantic sleeveless garment with feminine details, perfect for warm summer days. The pattern comes in A-F cup sizes and features wide gathered shoulder straps, a gathered bodice with elastic channels below the bust and at the waist. The sweetheart neckline is finished with an elastic channel and a ruffle. The elastic makes the dress and top both comfortable and flattering to wear and breastfeeding friendly. View B is perfect for scrap busting as it only requires around one meter of fabric.
Size range: European sizes 34-50/UK6-UK22/US2-US22 with A-E cup size options.
Sewing difficulty: The pattern is beginner friendly. There is no zipper, the dress and top uses elastic to go over your head. You should be able to sew a channel for the neckline elastic and a bias binding for the armholes. Pockets are optional.
Fabric suggestions: Choose a lightweight woven fabric such as cotton voilé, cotton lawn or cotton poplin. My samples were made in a lightweight crinkled cotton, 85 gsm. This design also looks beautiful in a sturdier cotton, such as a cotton poplin.
Fabric usage: Dress 2.2 meter (EU34) to 2.4 meter (EU50). Top 1.05 meter (EU34) to 1.3 meter (EU50).

”This dress is so romantic! I love where the straps sit on the shoulders and it gives it such an elegant feel. The Emma dress is flattering, comfortable, and a wonderfully designed pattern. The instructions are detailed, as always, with helpful tips throughout to help achieve neat and professional finishes. A joy to test another Silversaga pattern.”

”This pattern looks complex but came together quite quickly! I love the elevated details and that various cup sizes are available and already included. The finished insides are also something to swoon over!”

”The Emma dress has such a sweet silhouette that is perfect for those hot summer days. I made it in a light cotton for a fuller more structured dress, but I think it would also be absolutely stunning in a rayon or viscose. There are 4 different bust patterns for different cup sizes ranging from A-F, which makes adjustments easy to do. I made one for myself in the C cup and will be making one for my daughter in the A/B cup next. I like that the straps are wide enough to cover my bra straps, keeping me cool and modest at the same time. The instructions are detailed with lots of illustrations and I would say “advanced beginner” is an accurate difficulty description for this dress pattern. If you’re looking for a feminine and flattering summer dress, I would definitely recommend the Emma dress!”

”I love this pattern! I consider myself an advanced beginner and I found that this pattern challenged me and taught me some new techniques. I’m in love with the neckline and the straps on this pattern and I already have some ideas for new versions. I made the dress version with a crisp cotton poplin and I love how it turned out. It’s comfortable and easy to throw on because of the elastic. I love that there’s no zipper!”
