Lea Top, Pants & Skirt PDF sewing pattern

The Lea pattern is a relaxed and versatile 4-in-1 design that includes a sleeveless top, a grown-on sleeve top, a pair of pants, and a skirt. Designed to be worn together or as separate pieces, Lea offers an easy silhouette with thoughtful shaping and clean finishes.

The pants and skirt sit high on the waist with a comfortable elastic waistband and optional drawstring channel. They fit more closely at the hip before opening into a classic wide leg or a softly flowing skirt. Hidden inseam pockets are included, along with a wide hem that adds weight and structure.

The two tops are designed to pair effortlessly with the high-waisted bottoms. Choose between a sleeveless view with bust darts and bias facings, or a relaxed grown-on sleeve view finished with clean facings. Both tops are drafted with separate B-cup and D-cup bodices.

The pattern is designed for French seam finishes but can also be sewn using regular seams finished with an overlocker or zigzag stitch. Pocket instructions are only included for the French seam method.

The pattern is suitable for experienced beginners ready to build confidence with a few new techniques. The construction is straightforward, with no zippers or closures required. The elastic waistband allows for a flexible fit on the pants and skirt views.

Fabric recommendations
The pattern works best in light to midweight woven fabrics with no stretch, such as linen, hemp, soft cottons, cotton block prints, linen blends, Tencel twill, and rayon/viscose. Lightweight fabrics will create more drape, while heavier fabrics will result in a more structured garment.

Fabric usage
The cutting layout is based on fabric that is 140 cm (55") wide. The pieces are arranged efficiently to minimize waste, but it may be helpful to purchase a little extra fabric to allow for shrinkage, print alignment, or cutting adjustments.

Top (View A): 0.8 m - 1.2 m
Pants: 2.1 m - 2.2 m
Skirt: 1.8 m - 2 m

Imperial US2/4 - US24:
Top (View A): 0.8 yd - 1.3 yd

Skirt: 2 yd - 2.2 yd

Notions and tools
•  Pants & Skirt: Elastic, 4 cm wide (1 5/8") for the waistband.
•  Pants & Skirt: Interfacing for the drawstring openings and pocket openings.
•  Top View A: 2.5 cm (1") wide store-bought bias tape, or make your own.
•  Sewing thread.
•  Sharp fabric scissors or rotary cutter, pins, and a seam ripper.
•  A safety pin for threading the fabric tie and elastic.
•  Fabric marking pen or tailor’s chalk.

Good-to-have tools (optional)
•  A clear plastic ruler, a French curve and tracing paper (for any pattern alterations).
